School Nurse
Has everyone taken care of seeing the school nurse about your immunizations? If you are not sure, see the nurse today! I highly recommend that you do this quickly and not wait. Every time students put this off and wait, it becomes a BIG problem for them.
School Bill
If you have not paid your school bill (due today, Friday, January 22nd), you have until mid-semester to get your bill paid.All bills are due in full by Monday, March 1st. Please contact your parents now.
Health Insurance
EVERY international student NEEDS to have medical insurance!! If you don't have insurance, you can purchase something here: http://www.isoa.org/compass_main.aspx Just .00 per month if you are under age 24. See Dan if you need help making a purchase.
Do you need a cheap texting mobile phone?
Net10 sells pre-paid phones online. This Samsung phone (see link below) cost , however, text messages are just 3¡é each! Regular calls are 10¡é per minute. The purchase of the phone comes with 300 minutes and 60 days of service.

Tips for making long distance phone calls:
First, you need a phone in a room. Buy a - phone at Dollar General (short walk from campus: at the corner of College Ave and 8th Street). While you are at Dollar General, but an international calling card. Then you can call your family from your room for cheap! Also, your family can call you in your room directly.
SKYPE? If you have a computer in your room, use Skype to call your family. Cheap international rates. www.skype.com If the wireless signal in your room is not fast enough, buy a data cable and plug your computer directly in to the wall internet connection ¨C usually faster!
Dr. Razi Scholarship
In March, applications for the Dr. Razi Scholarship will be e-mailed to all F-1/International students. Here are a few details about this scholarship:
- We typically give three 00 scholarships each year.
- You must be in at least your 2nd semester at VU enrolled in regular, for credit classes.
- The scholarship is based on: involvement and volunteer work on the campus, clubs, activities, service, and/or in the community.
- Decisions will be made in April and the scholarship will be awarded for the 2010-2011 school year.

VanGO provides a free ride to Walmart each Friday afternoon. See information at the bottom of this email. Remember that you need your student ID to ride free.
